Okay, I'm scared about the bamboo

We would never get a foot deep of frost here. So perhaps the Bamboo would be a serious invader. I don't really like it either, it was a suggestion by a contractor. I'm thinking perhaps I could put up a solid trelis the 53 feet between the properties where we can see the neighbor and grow creeping fig on it. That wouldn't be immediate but would eventually be a solid green wall and wouldn't waste garden space with depth.

What do you all think of my Creeping Fig idea? Never put up a trellis that massive before but maybe I could do it. I'm thinking about those metal fencing posts painted beige like the house and those plastic made to look like wood panels of trellis that Home Depot has. I think they are 4 x 8 so I could turn them upright and have an 8 foot trellis. Wonder how long the Creeping fig would take to cover that if I planted them close together?

I'll figure this one out eventually or we won't ever feel like using our yard and now that I'm into major purchases of some exciting plants I know I will want to be out there all the time.

Hey, that Pineapple Upside Down Hosta looks like a really fun one. Something else for me to find.

Wondering if anyone has used a Ginger for a house plant. Perhaps it gets too big??
