I did a search on this plant through the Arnold Arboretum's (Boston, MA) web site and found reference to it.. I would suggest you contact them. John Alexander is the plant propagator there. His email is:

Can anybody tell me whether or not the above is grafted onto "native" witch-hazel? The reason I need to know is that we pruned our Arnold's Promise too heavily and there are lots of "suckers" coming from the bottom. If it is not grafted, I could let those grow to fill in some.
