Hi, Becky, a trough is a concrete, sand, perlite and peat creation.
That said it can be made of any material as long as there is some
Portland cement in the mixture. I am going to use some glass from a
glass blower and will substitute the glass for the sand and or perlite.
If you want a formula I will send it to you. The small troughs are
great for the little jewels that seem to get lost in the ground. It
puts them up close and ready for inspection. I tend to have weeds that
grow over my special plants. Some weeds are not weeds but do crowd out
the little plants. I plan to line the driveway with sun loving plants
in troughs.
