Utility poles

Who owns the pole? If it's the power company, they're going to not
particularly want something growing up their pole. I wouldn't want anything
on a pole that might in any way delay line repair, should it be needed.
Around here (USDA 7A), almost any vine will eventually harbor a sprig of
poison ivy.
