Re: Vine for wooden utility pole

Around here in Eugene OR. we see a lot of poles covered w/ trumpet vine......a guy up the street just this year covered the streetlight pole with roofing felt then wrapped it in chicken wire....planted a T vine and so far so good...
Also several folks here have just installed an old pole or used a decommissioned pole for vines of all sorts......
The woman across the alley grew a vine up her utility pole and the thing took off and climbed up her service towards the mainline.....we worry about her everytime she uses an extention pruner to control it......Geeeeez....fried neigbhor!
