Invisable fencing

Chris, my SIL installed the fencing around their rural acreage.   They live 
on a busy highway and lost their last dog to the road so this is a need.   
After installing his own with no experience, he now has gone into a part time 
business of installing.   He put his in by hand but since has purchased a 
trencher.
If it harmed the dog I know he would not be in favorite of this.
