Writing on mini-blinds

Monica -

I use a mechanical pencil with .75 or .5 lead. The best BY FAR. I write the
cultivar name on both ends of the stake. The name stuck into the ground NEVER
fades.

I've also tried:
china marker -fine point unavailable but it lasts
Sharpies - faded after 2 years
paint pens - faded after a year and expensive

I've used the 'poke through' ties on trees and they're dandy but aren't
practical for daffodil and daylily cultivars.
