Don...I just read an article in The Avant Gardener that states Agastache
rupestris is hardy to z.4 and bears orange/lavender flowers well into
fall...they say it's 'widely available'.
Thetas a dry zone 4, meaning no rain in the fall or wet snow in the winter
and a quick melt off of snow in the spring.

I lose mine in late winter and early spring because here in Minnesota its
usually wet for a month when the snow is melting and we have cold rains.

If planted in a well drained location with a large rock for the roots to grow
under and some dry winter mulch it would have a better chance.
