I'd only known it as a water plant so only have a
passing knowledge of it.
May I piggyback onto this thread another
overwintering question?
I started an Echium candicans from seed in
February and it's pretty darned big already. Had to bump it up to
bigger pots a few times. The roots fill its current 12 in diameter pot and
I'd like to overwinter it in the hopes of someday seeing it bloom.
With the onset of colder weather it has already lost some lower leaves. If
I overwinter it in an attached garage that may get down to 45° in a sunny
southfacing window, will it lose its leaves and get leggy or will it be
ok?
AHS says it's a biennial which means I might get a
chance at a flower next year. Some online sites say it's a shrub; if
so I could have a longer wait. Does anyone have any experience with this
plant?
