Kate, Sorry to hear of your friend’s illness. I do think plants can give us joy. My garden has been my therapy for many years. Though I have dumped a lot of money into it, it has been less expensive and, I believe, more successful than other forms of therapy. Certain varieties of ferns are still nicely green here, too, but ostrich is definitely on the decline right now here. Kitty From: owner-perennials@hort.net [mailto:owner-perennials@hort.net] On Behalf Of Kate Harrison Hi Kitty, Weather here these past days has been monsoon type rain in the UK. Not much going on in the garden to be honest, plenty weeds ha! I put some Parrot bulbs in a pot, I still have miniature yellow roses appearing. Fern is still nice and green. I did have a standard rose which did’nt do too well so I gave it to a friend nearby, it’s flowered beautiful for her, she thought the world of it but I heard this week she has a returning cancer and is very poorly. I am so happy she had such joy from the rose this summer. Katex Sent from my iPad
