Somehow . . .I get doubles and triples to come back fairly reliably. I
have a peach triple that self-sows and grows like a weed. They are right
next to my home's foundation with excellent drainage and relatively dry.
I have a friend who has the maroon doubles come back every year . . . but
they alternate lemon yellow one year, dark maroon the next . . . . . go
figure.
I have seedlings that have sprouted from the fallen seed. I just ignore
them and they come back in the spring. My greatest mystery is one year
my doubles have a leaf shaped one way, and the next year the same doubles
have a different leaf shape. The joys of cross pollination!
Happy Hollyhocking!
