Monks hoods like deep cool moist but not wet soil.
Most of them are easy to grow- and I like them very much.
Plant them in a spot that gets bright filtered sun through out the day.
which one do you have?
Aconitum napellus is the easiest to grow- though I think some of the plants
might be hybrids. this year I bought A.napellus from two different
wholesalers and there plants had different flower colors, one was a nice dark
sky blue, and the other one had dark blue to purple flowers with darker
edges.
their heights were a little different too.
Has any one grown a large number of this species from seed-if so is it very
variable ?
