Lara -- I covered up an ugly wrought iron railing with a passion vine and
it went FAST! I don't know where you are, but if you can grow passion
vines, their leaves are dark green and flowers come in shades of purple,
white, pink or red, so you can pick the best compliment for your perennial
border. In addition, the passion fruits are wonderful as are the
butterflies that munch on the vines.
good luck!

So goes an old chinese proverb:
If you want to be happy for a few hours, get drunk;
If you want to be happy for a week-end get married;
If you want to be happy for a week, barbeque a pig;
If you want to be happy all your life long become a gardener
