Sorry - my description is obviously not good enough here!
Papaver heldreichii has pale orange flowers and hairy silvery green foliage.
The only source I've come across is Chilterns seed catalogue here in UK -
they have a huge range of perennials seeds and they do send orders to US (I
believe). I actually bought the plant at a stall outside someone's house
passed by chance! I do love these chance encounters with new plants &
eople - I was even kindly given a tour of the cottage garden by the owner!
I notice Chilterns describe the flowers as pale brick-red !
