Hello to all! I purchased a few calamintha plants this past season and I
feel deeply in love. They required no care, smelled pleasantly like mint,
provided a baby's breath-type filler for cut bouquets (the more I cut, the
more the darn thing grew and bloomed), and looked great with whatever I had
placed them by (with oriental lillies, it looked like a living bouquet --
breathtaking!). I highly recommend this plant for every garden as I'm sure
everyone would find a place for this jewel. I purchased some from White
Flower Farm (which gave it a knock-out review) and Bluestone Perennials
(which was cheaper and the plants grew equally as well).
Questions: I'm hoping that this plant will spread like others in the mint
family, but so far it is just a bushy plant...does someone know if will
spread? If not, how can I propagate it? I love it so much, I want it as
an edging for my rose border along with the lamb's ear!
Any help would be most appreciated. I have it in full sun, I'm in zone
5/6, my soil is clay based.
