Re: perennials DIGEST V2 #5
Cherryl:
I ran around the house until I found the article I remembered. It was
in County Living Gardener October 1997 and is called Mapping a Garden:
Spring-flowering Bulbs. They take a border and show the effect through
the season. I spent about a month trying to figure out how to plant my
two 10'x4' bulb beds. I was going crazy but I do that to myself. I
stressed about which companions would look good and the spacing, size
and color.
When I planted the bulbs I kept pretty close to my plan in one bed and
went a little wild in the next bed based on which bulbs I had at hand.
One of my orders has not even shipped to me yet!
The depth of planting was pretty consistent from each source I read but
the spacing was quite different.
Good luck and have fun and I'll let you know what happens in the spring.
