I just received my Oct97 Androsace Notebook and it contains very
interesting articles for all alpine enthusiast. The Notebook provides
articles on
Androsace minor
Androsaces Along the Ridge
Androsace Laevigata
Androsace villosa, High Atlas of Morocco
Androsace axillaris ACE1060
Androsace x marpensis
Androsace yargongensis ACE1465
These are all well written articles with excellent photos enclosed. If
I am correct, The Androsace Group is species organization with support
from the Alpine Garden Society.
I just received my seed list and sent my order back and I was amazed,
the seeds were back within two weeks. Tell me if any Alpine group can
support you this quickly. The 97 seed list provides an excellent
selection of 69 different types of Androsace and 8 types of Douglasia.
This is a great list of seeds.
The other nice thing about the seed exchange program, is you don't have
to pay for the seeds..... even if you are local or overseas. Of course,
donors are given first priority in the selection.
Get educated about a species you have never grown or heard of before
and join the Androsace Group.
This is the membership statement:
The Androsace Group issues four Newsletters each year and two Androsace
Notebooks. It aims to circulate information on the cultivation and
naming of these plants and on their ecology and conservation status in
the wild. It also aims to investigate the problems of preserving
species and hybrids in cultivation and to take what steps it can to
ensure such preservation.
The Annual 1998 subscription is currently 4 UK Pounds Europe and 5 UK
Pounds ($10 USA) elsewhere. For membership information please contact:
