Val,
Don't feel alone, everyone of us has to put up with some "bare" spots
in our gardens. That's taking the bad with the good. Like the ants on
the peonies you want to cut and bring in. Gardening mags. are now
starting to show true to life pictures, but not so with the mail order
catalogs. There you will see anything, columbine, peonies, asters and
daffodils all blooming beside eachother!
I am learning still to this day that I need more in my flowerbeds
than just perennials. I've never been one to like shrubbery much, but a
well placed shrub or small tree can work wonders in the overall look,
not mention annuals or a nice container grown plant. Placed "just so"
these will all take the eye away from the bare spot or in the some cases
the eye sore in the middle of the flower bed.
Let's face it, everyone has this problem at one time or another.
