Chris:
I believe you never got an answer to the mystery-species of Amsonia
you asked about some days ago.
The species is Amsonia hubrichtii, native to the Ozark mountains, and
my favorite of the larger Amsonias.
It's ferny foliage is lovely the entire season and it colours
beautifully in the fall. My garden is bordered by 4 acres of Sugar
Maples. This species turns golden yellow at the same time as the
maples and many of the ornamental grasses. What a glorious bit of
sunshine in the garden at this time of the year.
