Re: Toxicity of sunflower hulls
Don:
We have a small garden surrounding a bird feeder that must have a good
inch or inch and a half in places of sunflower hulls. They are the
"mulch" for lavender, fever few, jacob's ladder, phlox, rudbeckia and
more (the garden is a real orphanage for others' unwanted/extra plants)
and the hulls don't seem to affect any of them.
I haven't tried starting anything from seed there, but some of the
spilled sunflowers seeds have sprouted with the sweetest little
blossoms!
