Thanks for cuttin' me some slack there, Mary. Hmm...sharp drainage and
summer drought are probably the twin reasons it never has stayed with me.
In "normal" years we have lots of rain in summer. Wonder if this would be
a candidate for a sand bed? Hmmm...may try it there next time and see
what happens.
Definitely worth a try - they are very charming whether they stay or not.
After all, we grow tulips and they aren't very perennial for most of us -
at least most of them aren't.
