Thank you for your concern about NYC

Things have been a bit difficult here in New York. We live with memories and
a bit of fear.

We live a couple of miles from the WTC.
All of the area a bit below us (toward the WTC) is cut off to all
transportation.

My daughters school is a bit below the cut off point and even though she
attends a private school they so far have not been able to open.

Until today the inbound bridges and tunnels have been limited to emergency
operations. There is limited inbound today. What that means is that the food
stores were not able to get supplies, all mail, and freight is cut off. I
think the problem will continue for several more days until they clear the
cast off debris.

We have friends who live a couple of blocks from the WTC...we can not reach
them and wonder where they are and if they were able to take out their
animals. We also do not know if any of the parents from my daughters school
did not return home.

I heard of some couple of my friend who both worked for a brokerage company
in the WTC. No one came to pick up their children from their day care. Where
are they?

There has been a smell in the air...where ever we go, like burning rubber.

Last Sunday my daughter and I had no plans for the afternoon. We went down
to the WTC and walked around in the beautiful weather. There were lots of
tourists milling around in front of the buildings. Kind of spooky to think
that now all the peace is gone. Down our main avenues we did not think
twice about seeing the Twin Towers at the foot of our view; now it is as if
they never were there.

Last night and today their were bomb scares at the Empire State Building and
Grand Central Station. When is this going to stop?

regards
Joel
