Re: wasps


Cheryl, I read something about those blue-black wasps, I think in Eric 
Fussell's insect book.  Their name didn't stay with me, but the author said 
that though they're huge and rather scary-looking, they are one of those wasp 
species that don't sting and are valuable pollinators and predators, too.  
Now I forget the name of the book, too; it's fairly new, published by Timber 
Press and has gotten plenty of publicity.  There is a passion flower on the 
dust jacket.  Sorry to be so vague!
