I moved a Leyland cypress that was larger than that a number of years ago and
it is now about 25 feet tall and flourishing. I think the trick is to get as
much rootball as you can. We dug and pried it out and wrapped the rootball in
a bedsheet to move it to the other side of the field. Have the new hole
already prepared to minimize the time out of the ground. Water it well when
you replant. You might want to stake it as well, temporarily (through next
spring at least) to keep it from uprooting or falling over.
Good luck. I think the cypresses are tougher than we give them credit for
being.
