Hi Everyone, I bought a drop dead gorgeous Echeveria at the Hardy Plant Society Sale last weekend. It is large, about the size of a dinner plate and I intend to put it into a terracotta pot in a cactus mix. Can anyone tell me about caring for it? I'm pretty sure it is tender and it will need to go into the GH for the winter. But how about watering, fertilizer, light exposure, etc? Any help will be appreciated. Marilyn, it's been my experience that most Echeverias respond well to the basic succulent treatment. That is, excellent drainage, modest fertilization, etc. However, to keep them in their best appearance, give them as much light as possible, otherwise, they will tend to stretch out of their usual compact appearance. Also, lower light levels, even in a greenhouse may cause some of the colored varieties to revert to a more basic green. However, this will correct itself come spring and summer.
