I'd mix it with some topsoil, Don.  And not worry about overfilling the 
whole, by 6 inches or even more. I think you'll find that the composted 
leaves will deteriorate further and even vanish, maybe as soon as a year, 
because they're so highly organic.  I would think you'd want something more 
permanent next to the foundation.
