It might be a seedling or plant from the crown of the main plant.  You can 
cut up the crowns into small pieces and each will grow into a small plant..in 
the case of 'Jack Frost' its a PPF plant.

If that person cultivates around there plants or broke apart the soil ball 
when they planted, it just might have been a small piece off of the original.

For those collection seeds, it would be very interesting to here what you get 
in the way of seedlings.
