Alyce,
No one color floats to the top...just more intensity, deeper
saturation. Find I have been doing the same in my clothing. No purple in my
clothing, but have woven lavender-purple into theme on trim of outbuildings
over the past couple of years. Just to pick up and carry your eye through
the property from one point to the next. Just touches, no lavender buildings
.... as yet.
I am wanting to create couple of patios with color themes in
saturated colors.
My wife is beginning to look at me with one eyebrow a touch higher than the
other.....

Elderly ladies are purported to like wearing purple, Gene. I'm
starting to like it. I'm still not ready for red in my main
perennial beds, but I now like it on either side of the drive in
containers between the house and shed, as well as down in the meadow
away from the main beds. You could be on to something. What strong
colors are you referring to?
