Thanks for the suggestions. The plant is definitely not pink obedient plant. I have a patch of those as well as some white ones. I sincerely hope it is not purple loosestrife! The unidentified plant has hardly spread at all compared to the obedient plants. Isn't loosestrife completely uncontrollable? My stepfather has had this plant in his garden for several years and it has just developed into a nice sized clump (unless he has been removing large quantities of it every year and I don't know about it). What else would identify purple loosestrife? Thanks for your help.
