unidentified plant/fine gardening

this is the response I received (very quickly!) from fine gardening about
the plant on their October cover:
fine gardening writes:
Loosestrife (Lysimachia ciliata). It's an invasive plant and not highly
recommended for backyards.
The coneflower was what we were trying to present but the author's garden
had this invasive plant in the background. However, she claims she hasn't
had that much trouble with it. Probably because it sits in a pond.

(ps Im wondering what else people have had in their gardens thats just
turned too invasive, in mine I would have to say obedient plant, and
artemisia valerie finnis)
