A while back someone suggested using venetian blind slats for
marker-labels. I found a huge blind the next day at the dump and now have
a lifetime supply of labels for free. You can cut them easily. This one
is white and seems to be made of vinyl. I've been using Sharpie Marker,
but I think I'll try the opaque paint marker suggested recently.
Previously I used strips of metal--aluminum I think--that I got at the
lumberyard, cut into suitable lengths, and engraved with a small electric
engraving tool. These last forever, but are hard to read at a distance.
Hi....
Even if you can't find a discarded one, they are only about $5 at K-Mart or a
like store.
Take care, Claire
