Re: Jade vine on Matha Stewart


OK here it is:Strongylodon macrobotrys AKA Jade Vine, a legume and very
tropical..

Its seeds might be available from the Banana Tree,long ago I saw it in
Thompson and Morgan(where I too fell in love with its exotic looks).As I
recall they(T&M) said this was not an easy plant from seeds.

Check with some of the Tropical plants sites, Logees etc., to see if you
might get a plant if you cant get seeds.Just remember it (if it were to
grow to its normal size)will need tropical conditions year round and a
very strong support to show off the flowers that you are attracted to.
