Actually guinea fowl or chinese geese will do better at this sort of thing,
and the geese are heavy layers (nothing wrong with a good goose egg-I can't
tell the difference when they are scrambled or used in baking) while the
guinea fowl are probably the tastiest table birds I have ever eaten. My
neighbors, who use absolutely no pesticides have both in their gardens for
pest control.
