I wouldn't do this unless the shop vac is very cheap and you want to replace
it frequently. I hesitate to use too many things for tasks for which they
were not designed. The tool rental place nearby also didn't think it was a
good idea for me to use their heavy duty shop vac to clean the pond bottom.
And it won't grind the leaves up anyway, will it? Put a bagger on your
lawnmower and mow over them instead.
