On mint--growing it in containers is very good. I grow mine in a chimney tile which is 4' long by 1' square, open bottom. I submerge the tile in the ground about 2/3 of the depth--or however deep I get before I get tired of digging. By sticking above ground a foot or so it doesn't get out and spread around the tile, and is easy to reach for cutting. The roots don't go deep enough to escape out the bottom. However, I did once have the mint die, choked itself to death because I didn't thin it for several years.

Use it to make Mint Julep. My recipe for Okie Mint Julep(non-alcoholic):
Bring 10 oz frozen orange juice concentrate and 1 1/2 cups of lemon juice to a boil, add a HUGE bunch of mint, let steep until cold. Strain out mint, add 1 1/2 cups sugar or more to taste. This syrup keeps in the refrigator 2 or 3 weeks. To use, put 1/3 cup of syrup in tall glass, add ice and water.
