thanks Marilyn,

yes it does sound like a lot of work...I guess that is one
of the great advantages of being a Buddhist monk
practicing gardening as meditation: you don't think
of hard work as work at all.

I will try an experiment on some of the irises this fall and
let you know the results. Most of them I will divide. I
wonder whether there is any advantage to spring division
over fall division...
