Plateau is $299.52 per gallon. That works out to $2.34 per ounce.
The tank mix I use to burndown fescue sod is:
4 to 6 ounces of Plateau per acre
1 qt. Roundup Ultra per acre
1 qt. Methylated Seed Oil (MSO)per acre
17 lbs. Ammounium sulfate per 100 gallons of solution.
A 10 to 25 gallon per acre spray rate is recommended. I like to use 20
gallons per acre.
If trying to kill out smooth brome sod I've had better success with 1 1/2
quarts of Roundup in the same mix above.
The addition of MSO and ammonium sulfate, in my opinion, are just as
critical as the Plateau and Roundup for a complete burndown. The MSO opens
the stomata on the leaves for better up take and the ammonium sulfate
stimulates growth for even better uptake and distribution through the plant.
This mix will kill fescue dead with one application in the spring and
provide residual weed control for new plantings. I like to spray this mix at
or near planting time as a pre-emerge.
I must emphasize, this is a burndown recipe. DO NOT use this mix as a post
emergent.
