I don't know if this helps or confuses anyone.
Chicago is an Algonquian word for great stink. It has been an old Sauk story
that, chicago was named after all of the stink of the skunk cabbage that
blooms in the spring, in the area ( I have never seen any in the area.)
There is more to the story but that is the jest.
