It comes up very early in the year and goes dormant in a few weeks I image it
could make it in a thick prairie setting if you have a lot of summer grasses.
My experience with this plant is in the shade garden and it does its thing
before the trees are fully leafed out, even when it seeds its self into a
thicket of gooseberries it will live for many years.
