Goats for a goat prairie?

Hello:

We have a two-acre area containing a mixture of native and alien plants.
Two of the aliens are thistles and poison ivy.  I understand goats enjoy
both of these plants. Would a few goats -- carefully managed -- get them
under control without destroying native forbs and grasses?
