Re: Goldenrod
There are perhaps a half-dozen goldenrod species found in Illinois
prairies: Solidago canadensis, S. juncea, S. missouriensis, S. nemoralis,
S. riddellii, S. rigida, and S. speciosus. As a group, goldenrods are
vigorous and weedy. Perhaps the most aggressive is S. rigidawhich is often
found in disturbed areas and along roadsides, especially if the sites are a
bit moist.
