Russian-olive and Saltcedar Brochure Available
This brochure addresses the issue of two non-native plant species that have become common throughout riparian areas of the arid west: Russian-olive and Saltcedar. The brochure describes how these species change native habitats, why they're a threat, and what we can do about it. The brochure also provides some cautionary words about how to responsibly restore riparian habitats that have been invaded by Russian-olive and Saltcedar.
The brochure was produced by the Western Working Group of Partners in Flight, with funding from the Wildlife Habitat Management Institute of the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG). Of the 22,000 copies originally printed, 20,000 have already been distributed to NRCS state offices throughout the 11 western states, as well as to IDFG regional offices throughout Idaho. With only 2,000 copies left from the original printing, please contact me as soon as possible to order your copies.
