Hi, I am new to the prairie list and I wanted to say Hello. We live in SW
Ohio, and are attempting to grow a small prairie patch in our backyard.
When we started out 2 years ago we used a 'native' mix from Wildflower
Farms. This did not work very well, did not contain any grasses, and we
are overrun with Mexican Hat. We know better now and have introduced
Little Bluestem and Northern Dropseed grass, along with some real prairie
plants that are native to SW Ohio. We try to collect seed from local
areas, but there are not many around here. Needless to say its an ongoing
project, and we learn more and more every day. I would like to here others
experiences. I can't wait for spring!
