S-130/190 training course 1/8-1/11/98

There is an S-130/190 Fire Fighter Training - Introduction to Fire Behavior
course being run this coming week in Brodhead Wisconsin ( a bit west of Beloit
WI, about a 2 - 3 hr drive from the metro area )

This is the standard brush and grass fire course used by many agencies as
training for their crews who conduct prescribed fires. 

Originally it was felt that this course would not have any slots available in
it due to local demand and from the organizing group (Applied Ecological
Services).

I just got an e-mail from the course organizer that there are slots available
in the course and to pass this information on the the restoration community. 

The course will be run from 8-5 Thursday 1/8 through Sunday 1/11/98.

ASAP....

At this time there are not any FIRM plans for this course to be run in the
Chicago metro area this winter. There has been discussion only. The only other
upcoming S-130/190 course will be in Springfield IL this coming September.
