Hi MJ:
    Many thanks for sharing "A Glimpse of Iowa in 1846", certainly worth
copying.
     I have collected a number of such accounts for the southern 1/3 of
Michigan; yes, the "prairie peninsula" of Transeau did indeed extend well
into the lower portion our beautiful state, a point that cetainly surprises
most residents of this state.
