Sericea lespediza is a legume with leaves that look a lot like white prairie
clover, but perhaps a bit larger. We have seen it invading degraded
prairies in Northern Missouri, and I am wondering what the natural history
of this plant is. Does anyone know? Generally the introduced legumes are
the most difficult plants to deal with as they are quite compatible with
grassland ecosystems. We have also heard it is a serious problem in Kansas.
Is this a disturbance species?
