Hello.
Does anyone have experience preventing seed set on white sweet clover by
cutting the plants back to about 6 inches each time flower buds (still
green) appear? I'm wondering whether I can use a string trimmer to control
a 50' x 100' patch (maybe a bit bigger) by cutting every few weeks right
into fall.
Just so you know...(1) The area has been burned two springs in a row, but
conditions were not good for wiping out the second-year plants last spring.
(2) There are native grasses and forbs mixed with the clover so I would
rather not use herbicides.
Thank you.
