Re: Germinating instructions sought


The Baptisia leucophea and Baptisia leucantha that are native in Illinois
require scarification with sandpaper and then a cold, moist chilling period
for 2-3 weeks.  We just use moist sand of vermiculite and put them in our
walk-in cooler at about 38F.  This seems to do the trick.  You also need to
inoculate them with the appropriate inoculant when you plant them out.
