about Passionflower, Passiflora incarnata. Ntive, usually on a perched
water-table. Leave the fruit in the vine until it changes from smooth to
wrinkled, and then eat it raw just as you would a boiled egg. The mass of
seeds inside are each surrounded by a lemon-flavored pulp. Or empty it into
a blender mix with water, and strain before drinking.
Passiflora edulis, from Mexico, has a sweet pulp: you can grow it here in
Dallas as an annual.
