Linda,
Check with your local Dept. of Natural Resources or "The Nature Conservancy". In my state of Ohio it's not easy to burn for a small private land owner. You need several permits etc. Then again many locals in the rural area burn small areas in some what disregard of laws etc. There are a lot of fire calls in the spring due to this and the landowner liable of subsequent damages.
I have a 5 acre meadow with Pedicularis lanceolata which I burn but I am a State certified prescribed fire manager and secure the necessary permits and procedures from EPA and Dept. of Resources.
Burning...not impossible to do but sometimes difficult.
Wish you luck with the Pedicularis.

It has a small population of state threatened Pedicularis that is being shaded out. Any of you have experience burning wetlands or suggested contacts? Thanks.
